Jakarta officially known as the Special Capital Territory of Jakarta (Indonesian: Daerah Khusus Ibu Kota Jakarta), is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. Located on the northwest coast of Java, Jakarta is the country's economic, cultural and political centre, with the most populous city in Indonesia and in Southeast Asia, and is the twelfth-largest city in the world. The official metropolitan area is the second largest in the world, yet the city's suburbs still continue beyond it. Jakarta is listed as a global city in the 2008 Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC) research.
As typology in Indonesia, Jakarta has Unique Traditional House as well, called Batavian house or Rumah Betawi, is the word derrived from ‘Batavia’, previously the name of Jakarta city. The presence of ‘orang Betawi’ or Batavian/Betawi people is decreasing since massive development of Jakarta. Also Traditional House of Betawi almost gone by Globalism and Jakarta already change as "Modern Cities without Identity clearly".

1. Bapang House or as famous called Kebaya House. Characteristic of this house is a spacious front porch and there the living room couch where homeowners are relaxed, semi-open only in the limit fence 80 cm high and the floors are usually higher than ground level and there is a staircase made of cement bricks at most 3 steps . Front and around the house is a spacious home page new outer fence of the house. The form is simple and made of wood with carved Betawi typical home with a box shape (box-shaped raised above ground) Bapang house consists of living room, family room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and extra spacious terrace.
2. Rumah Gudang or Storage House. Easy guessed from that name, this Betawi traditional house stands on a rectangular ground, his elongated front to back. The roof of his house looks like a saddle horse or armor, and at the front of the house there is a small roof.

INTERIOR
In the interior, one aspect that is interesting is the unique ornaments which usually appear at doors and windows, ventilation and other part of the house. The ornament is influenced by Arabian, Portuguese, China and Dutch, and is one of the most unique character of Betawi house.
